Top Shelf Expressions
Let’s face it. We tend to be a little over the top with our choice of words. People who use “LOL” usually aren’t actually laughing out loud; people who claim to be in food comas are never (un)fortunately in comas induced by overeating; when a friend claims they’re starving, you’re pretty sure there’s somebody out there in the world who’s actually...

A Beautiful Struggle
I’m always envious of the people who have a good idea what their life direction might be.
I’ve got friends who absolutely know what they want to do. Some of my friends know they want to be teachers…others are set on being dentists…some are striving to be engineers…one of my friends wants to be a polar bear…the list goes on. I respect how hard they work. These...

Completely touching and relevant, this is something we should remind ourselves of more often.

AND YOU GET A REBLOG! And YOU get a REBLOG! EVERYONE GETS REEEEBLOOOOOGS (read Oprah style). Seriously. Good quote. Nay…GREAT quote!
Here is my secret. It’s quite simple: One sees clearly only with the...

Spirit Walk...COMMENCE!
I will admit, my last written post was a tad on the mean side. I’m not apologizing for it, I’m just admitting it. Therefore, let’s go back to the light-hearted stuff (for now), shall we?
Friends, last weekend, I watched Midnight in Paris. I enjoyed it quite a bit, mainly because I often saw myself in Owen Wilson’s shoes (without the “marrying Rachel McAdams”...

I guess this means I’d better start juggling chainsaws while hitting on supermodels.

Swiped this from Gabe Bondoc on Facebook. I’m not one to like putting quotes up, nor am I the most religious person. But I really liked this one. It’s probably an old quote too…BUT I DON’T CARE! It’s still good!

Having Irish blood flowing through my veins (believe it or not), this appeals to me very much. I may be too lazy to actually make this stuff this year…but someday I hope I can get over that laziness in favor of quenching my alcoholic thirst.
Happy Birthday to the GROUND!
Facebook likes to remind me when it’s someone’s birthday. Sometimes, I do think about writing on the person’s wall with something like, “Happy Birthday! Hope there’s less being-stabbed involved this year!” or…”You were born today. Sweet.”
Right when I’m about to hit “Enter”, my brain suddenly jumps in, “Hey Dan, you...

I always admired how witty the writers at cracked.com really are. I’m envious, but at the same time, hope to get there myself someday.
Good night…my carbon copy.

It's All About Positive Thinking
Because I like to think of myself as an inspiration being with many great quotes that people will someday put on Facebook/tumblr, I’ve decided to give my nephew some advice that he didn’t ask for (mainly because he’s 10 months old). He probably won’t understand it all now. But when he’s older, I hope he can apply it to his own life when I’m gone building...
Finding that Niche
Almost everyone I know has got that niche. There’s always one particular useful subject that these people just excel at.
If you want to find out more about cars, I would point you to my friend Derrick. If you want to know about circuits and practical handyman things, my friend Chase has got you covered. If you want to know about sports, hit up my friend Allen Mark. If you want to know...

Time for some LENT-il Soup
Believe me, the title sounded a lot funnier in my head.
Lent is finally upon us, friends. Needless to say, I am unprepared once again. Today, my friend’s Facebook status read: “Lent is upon us…what will YOU give up?” Which actually sounded like a slogan to a corny Catholic-action movie that I would like to see (I also read it in the movie-preview guy’s voice).
So,...
GSW
Truth be told, it’s been quite a week.
Due to some unfortunate circumstances, it’s been a GSW week. You Bay-Area people (sometimes known as “Yay” area, for whatever reason) may think I’m talking about the Golden State Warriors. However, if you know me, then you’ll know that my NBA knowledge is close to 4% enthusiasm.
What I know about the NBA is…Jeremy...
That Old Geezer
As we speak, my father is the tender age of 57 years old.
He looks pretty young for that age. If you came over to my house right now, you’d probably look at my dad and say, “Wow Dan, your dad looks like he’s fifty-FOUR! How does he do it?”
Then I’d shrug and say, “I dunno. It’s probably in the genes.”
Of course, as the saying goes, don’t...
Oh Superbowl Commercials
I should be sleeping so I can go to my job orientation tomorrow morning…but I’m bored, so I’ll just make a list of my favorite Superbowl commercials instead.
In no particular order:
1) Hyundai - Cheetah commercial
2) Audi - Vampire commercial
3) Hyundai - Think Fast
4) Bridgestone - Performance Basketball
5) Bridgestone - Performance Football
6) Doritos - Man’s Best...
Working Out and Stuff
I used to wonder what the point of working out was. I pondered this for a very long time back in my days of early youth two days ago.
I was pretending to jog down my street and saw two guys trying to carry a couch up the stairs. One was a young man, probably in his mid-twenties; the other was an older gentleman who looked like he was in his early 60s. I assume they were father and son.
The couch...

Someone drinking wine and reading a book alone: “Oh, that person must be really cozy with that glass of wine while reading ‘Gone With the Wind’. Good for that person! I hope they stay warm and cozy while they read.”

What is a "Daniel"?
I’ve always been very curious about my name. When I was 12, I asked my mother why my name is “Daniel”. She told me that I was named after one of my great-great-great-great-great-grandfathers. Or something like that. At the that time, I was satisfied with that response.
11 years later, I became curious as to what “Daniel” actually meant. I heard somewhere that it...
One of my favorite stand-up bits of all time.
I can honestly say that Donald Glover has become one of my favorite comedians of all time. And if I worked even half as hard as he does, I’d probably have my name out there as a musician already. Which I hope I can motivate myself to do really soon.
Anywho, he does a bit about sugary cereals in this particular video. Definitely one of my...
How Tumblr Could Be Better
I used to not like using tumblr. Now it’s kind of grown on me. However, there are certain functions that I think could make tumblr even better for everyone.
Add a “Hide” function. It’s the one thing that Facebook did right. Let’s be honest. On Facebook, you have tons of “friends” on your list…and you have no idea who they are. It also implies...

Resolutions I can KEEP!
If you know me, I’m not a fan of the New Year’s resolution phase that seems to be popular. People almost always NEVER stick to them. I know I don’t. Last year, I made a resolution to work out more. This year, I don’t think I’ve eaten more pizzas than any other year of my life.
So, this year, I’ve chosen to make resolutions that I’ll want to keep. And it...
