There are a lot of love songs out there.
Songs about falling in love…
Songs about falling out of love…
Songs about one night stands…
Songs about unconditional love…
This particular love song reminded me of why I love someone…why I love my mom.
We’ve fought a lot over the 23 years we’ve known each other. And I’m sure we’re bound to fight more as the years pass. All I know is…she was the first person in the world who taught me how to love. And I can never be more thankful for that.
When I first heard this song while driving to Santa Cruz, I will openly admit that I teared up by the end of it. But since I don’t like crying, I sucked it back up into my eyes. It was really hard for me to do.
I am currently in the process of learning this song so I can play it for her someday. Hopefully, I’ll be a decent musical artist by then so she doesn’t have to put up with a tone deaf voice.
So if you love your mom, go ahead and give the song a listen. It might just move you the way it moved me.
